After three Wednesday afternoon teacher study sessions and one Sunday afternoon of overtime work, the mezzotint study has produced fruitful results. Most members are learning mezzotint for the first time.
Study Overview

In this study, two 10 × 12 cm copper plates were distributed. One had already been completely rocked by us, and the other was left unrocked. The teachers could rock one plate and engrave the other. By using the Mezzotint Rocking Machine and the Mezzotint small disk roller with copper grip, the roughening of a 10 × 12 cm copper plate can be completed within 1.5 to 2 hours.

Two-thirds of the teachers created their works based on the copper plates that had already been completely rocked by us this time. The plate depth is consistent, allowing tones from deep black to bright white to be fully displayed, with intermediate tones also shown clearly.

The Hansen Press printmaking machine in A4 and 8K sizes is fully capable of the high-pressure printing required for mezzotint works.
